No one actually knows what they are doing. This is my first blog. I’m sure in a few years, even in a few months, I will completely change the design of this website, how often I post, some of my topics, potentially everything. As I learn more about blogs and about myself and life, this will evolve. But this is how it is now. I have always loved to write. I go through phases of what I want to write about and where. I know for sure I love to write about my daughters. And it seems like a good idea that since I am the first one I know about to write about homeschooling in my own family, I document the journey.
My daughters, Isabella and Keilani, are only 3 and 2, respectively. When one says homeschooling, they typically think of starting at Kindergarten. However, homeschooling really starts at birth. We just don’t tend to think of it that way. I’ve been homeschooling my kids since I had them. I taught them how to eat and walk and talk. It’s because of me they know how to say “we can clean that up later” and “I don’t like that food.”
The real point of this blog, aside from documentation, is to share to another mom that they are not alone and for me to find others so I know I am not alone. My strategy in this whole parenthood thing is to read everything I possibly can about a subject and where my children should be and where other children are at the same age and then just do what feels right for my own family.
Every parent is different. There is no right or wrong way. We all have different goals for our children. As long as they are growing up happy and healthy, nothing else matters. There is no judgment on this blog. Suggestions and recommendations are welcome. Negative comments are unwelcome and will be removed. Please come here with love, positivity, and an open mind as I share my life and my family with you. Remember, no one is perfect.
